We are proud to enter our 36th
year of Shaw University
Divinity's School Alexander/Pegues
Ministers' Conference.
This
year we
will be exploring the concept of "Leadership." To
explore this concept, we
will open on Monday Night at 7 p.m.
with the Dean of African American Preaching, Rev. Dr. Gardner C.
Taylor, followed by the President of the National Baptist
Convention, USA, Rev. Dr. William J. Shaw.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, we will have preachers and
lecturers speaking
to the issue of leadership. On Tuesday, the preachers include Rev. Dr.
Reginald High and
Rev. Dr. Stephen Thurston. The lecturer will be Rev. Dr. David
Goatley. On Wednesday, the
preachers will include Rev. Dr. Marsha Foster Boyd and Rev. Dr. T.
Dewitt Smith. The lecturer will be Rev. Dr. Tom Hoyt. Then on Thursday, the preachers will include
Rev. Dr. Michael Battle and Rev. Dr. Gregory Moss. The
lecturer will be Rev. Dr. Boykin Sanders. The Conference will also
feature morning devotions and morning workshops.
Included in the Thursday evening
worship will be an Ecumenical Holy Communion
celebrating the Supreme Act of God’s Love in high pageantry.
This year's conference again promises to be filled with excellent preaching
and teaching.
